Essay One Architecture in Stadscahiers
In the 2008-2009 issue of the dutch urban renewal magazine Stadscahiers, Matthijs Bouw writes about the change of tasks, responsibilities and possibilities in One Architectures practice.
In his introduction to the book, Arie Langkeek puts the essay forward as an example of the shift of the architects’ focus from institutions to individual parties. He emphasizes the role of the architecture practice as a mediator between users, program, client and the eventual spatial image.

One Architecture uses design and strategic thinking to reduce complexity and to bring people together, in terms of process and engagement, in space and in beautiful environments. One’s work includes: architecture, urbanism, planning and more. One Architecture’s approach has resulted in successful projects which include the much discussed design for Les Halles in Paris (with OMA and XDGA) in 2004, urban plans for Gouda, Deventer and Tbilisi (Georgia) and the realization of Health Center Jozef in Deventer. Matthijs Bouw regularly publishes articles on One Architecture’s practice and ideas.
