Highest point celebration at St Jozef Health Center project
Friday September 26th the contractor reached the highest point of the construction of the St Jozef Health Center project by placing the ridge bar of the new roof construction. The project is a drastic transformation and extension of a 6000m2 former hospital building and national monument in Deventer (NL). The highest point is traditionally celebrated with beer, yet due to safety regulations, the beer has been replaced with french fries and coke. See project page here and the project’s website here

One Architecture uses design and strategic thinking to reduce complexity and to bring people together, in terms of process and engagement, in space and in beautiful environments. One’s work includes: architecture, urbanism, planning and more. One Architecture’s approach has resulted in successful projects which include the much discussed design for Les Halles in Paris (with OMA and XDGA) in 2004, urban plans for Gouda, Deventer and Tbilisi (Georgia) and the realization of Health Center Jozef in Deventer. Matthijs Bouw regularly publishes articles on One Architecture’s practice and ideas. Currently we are working, amongst others, on several health care buildings, a number of urban renewal projects and the Olympic Framework for the Dutch bid on the games in 2028.
