Results presented of the uDUTCHnaya seminar.
One Architecture participated in the uDUTCHnaya festival in Moscow. On December 6th the results of the uDUTCHnaya seminar were presented at the Center of Contemporary Architecture (C:CA) in Moscow, at -5 degrees Celsius indoor (the institute’s buidling is currnently being refurbished). In the seminar a group of Russian architects worked together with Dutch architects (Bart Aptroot - One Architecture, Wout Smits, Remair von Meding - KAW, Ton Schaap - DRO Amsterdam) on a strategy for using a concentration of art istitutes near the Kursk station as a catalyst for an urban renewal process. The proposal recognized the spatial potential of the former industrial sites which in some cases resembled medieval Italian town squares, added new programmatic elements in the form of modest towers and proposed improved connections with surrouding neighbourhoods. A translation of the presentation from Russian to English is still in progress.

About us
One Architecture is an Amsterdam based architecture and planning firm run by Matthijs Bouw. One Architecture uses design and strategic thinking to reduce complexity and to bring people together, in terms of process and engagement, in space and in beautiful environments. One’s work includes: architecture, urbanism, planning and more. One Architecture’s approach has resulted in successful projects which include the much discussed design for Les Halles in Paris (with OMA and XDGA) in 2004, urban plans for Gouda, Deventer and Tbilisi (Georgia) and the realization of Health Center Jozef in Deventer. Matthijs Bouw regularly publishes articles on One Architecture’s practice and ideas. Currently we are working, amongst others, on several health care buildings, a number of urban renewal projects and the Olympic Framework for the Dutch bid on the games in 2028.
