Keukenhof curtain
One Architecture works on the transformation of the estate of Keukenhof. Keukenhof has the ambition to develop the estate surrounding its castle into an art-landscape. While the possibilities of the development are being researched, One Architecture has created a first step. A huge curtain at the entrance of the estate marks the start of the transformation. The colors in the curtain allow sunlight to shine through it in different ways, which creates a fairylike effect.

One Architecture is an Amsterdam based architecture and planning firm run by Matthijs Bouw. One Architecture wants to use architecture to reduce complexity and to bring people together, in terms of process and engagement, in space and in beautiful environments. One Architecture’s approach has resulted in successful projects which include the much discussed design for Les Halles in Paris (with OMA and XDGA) in 2004 and urban plans for Gouda, Deventer and Tbilisi (Georgia) and the realization of Health Center Jozef in Deventer. Matthijs Bouw regularly publishes articles on One Architecture’s practice and ideas. Our texts are downloadable here.
