The design for the new HQ of a financial services firm re-thinks the existing monument and opens a new urban perspective of its central Eindhoven site.
The design proposes a clear organization: administration in the monument in front, the intimate consultancy rooms in the back, the other functions in-between. This building combines two typologies: front- and back house connected by a glass hallway and the Venetian palazzo-type (open atrium between two identical buildings).
This urban project offers the possibility to accomplish a much larger increase in volume for the monument then was foreseen in the urban plan (from 750 to 1450 m2), by its new orientation towards the parking place besides it, as a prelude to the fact that the Fens area will eventually become an urban square.
