Emscherpark “Die Insel”
The collaborative project with Noël van Dooren, LA4Sale and Rein Geurtsen won 1st prize in a competition organized by the Emscher Genossenschaft.
‘Die Insel’ shows new ways for the Ruhrgebiet. One’s part of the entry drastically reorganizes and scales up the industrial areas and thereby creates space for possible future developments. It urges the Ruhrgebiet to take a step back and concentrate their strength on the cities. They gain plan capacity for later stages when the pressure rises again.
