New Map of Tbilisi
The New Map of Tbilisi aims to make transparent planning policy, land deals and its effects on the development of the city such that the government and its citizens will be empowered to create a better and sustainable environment in the short and long run.
The project wants to address the rampant real estate development in Tbilisi, Georgia that threatens the short and long term quality of the city. Analogous to the Nieuwe Kaart van Nederland, we want to introduce the concept of a New Map of Tbilisi in a seminar and workshops as a way to help generate a professional debate on the city’s development and the responsibility of the creative community therein. In order to prepare for this seminar and the workshops, we aim to make an example New Map of Tbilisi, which will be launched at the event. The Dutch NIROV will assist in making this sample map. The New Map of Tbilisi wants to make transparent planning policy, land deals and its effects on the development of the city such that the professional community, the government and its citizens will be empowered to create a better and sustainable environment in the short and long run.
