Zoetermeer Floriade 2012
Over the years, the Floriade flower exhibition has grown from garden to park to landscape. Further growth will demand a conceptual switch: The Floriade 2012 can no longer be seen as a single spatially independent area. This leads to new logistical and environmental questions.
One Architecture calls for a wider view on the Floriade 2012: Regionalizing the Floriade will diminish spatial and logistical problems. This will integrate the area into the urban condition of Western Holland.
To explore the value of a regional concept we have chosen in this initial proposal a menu of twelve possible Floriades 2012 in Zoetermeer region, each with its own theme, spatial challenges and coalitions.
