Educational renewal goes hand in hand with new functions at a larger scale. For housing corporation De Key/ Amos 45primary schools in urban renewal areas in Amsterdam are a great starting point for the regeneration of its communities. That is why Amos and DeKey have joined forces and have asked One Architecture to help them devise an overall strategy for urban renewal through the school system, as well as a series of projects on different time scales. These vary from low budget, quick improvements to the public space around and the image of the existing schools to a proposal for a new school combined with a multifunctional center, a parent-child center and additional real-estate development.
